Job summary

SWJ Portugal Engineering Solutions seeks a Logistics Dispatcher - Returnable Packaging based in Lisbon to oversee the operational supply of returnable containers for the automotive sector. You will operate within SAP-based systems, monitor stock and transport operations across four XDock sites, and take decisive action when plans deviate.

You bring 1–3 years in operational logistics, strong data affinity, and fluency in English; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completed qualification in logistics, freight forwarding, industry or comparable field.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in operational logistics, scheduling, supply chain management or comparable environment.
• Experience with data and digital processes in a system-supported environment.
• Ability to analyse stock levels, demand and discrepancies and identify potential problems.
• Ability to prioritise and apply defined rules and processes reliably.
• Initiative and sense of responsibility in spotting and solving problems.
• Strong communication skills and ability to assert oneself.
• Experience with SAP or comparable ERP/logistics systems is an advantage.
• Very good written and spoken English is essential; German language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily availability of returnable containers and incoming requirements from suppliers and plants.
• Review automatically generated planning proposals, adjust and approve per defined processes.
• Manage operational planning of returnable containers for four XDock sites.
• Identify deviations, bottlenecks and delayed deliveries early and initiate measures.
• Follow up on bottlenecks and disruptions until resolved.
• Coordinate ad hoc deliveries or stock reallocations when needed.
• Check orders and system data for plausibility and completeness.
• Handle special and clearing cases and provide information to resolve them.
• Communicate critical situations and elevate when independent solutions are not possible.
• Work closely with supervisor or team leader in complex or critical situations.
