Job summary

Q-Storage in Funchal, Portugal seeks a highly skilled Sous Chef to join a prestigious fine dining restaurant. You will work with the Head Chef to lead the kitchen team, plan menus, and ensure exceptional dining experiences.

You will train junior staff, monitor inventory, maintain high food-safety standards, and collaborate with front-of-house for seamless service. Portuguese language preferred and culinary degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a fine dining establishment.
• Passion for food and creativity in developing new dishes.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring dishes meet high standards.
• Oversee and manage day-to-day kitchen operations, including prep, cooking, and plating.
• Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff on techniques and food safety.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to maintain stock levels.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and address issues with management.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Maintain health and safety standards and a clean, organized kitchen.
