Job summary

act digital is seeking a Lead DevOps & Platform Automation Engineer to drive automation across software delivery, infrastructure management, and security. You will design scalable CI/CD, IaC, and internal self-service platforms, embedding security and quality controls across pipelines while reducing repetitive work.

The role requires leadership across development, security, and operations, with a focus on GitOps, policy-as-code, and advanced observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or related roles.
• Minimum 3 years driving technical innovation, prototyping technologies, or leading architectural improvements.
• Proven experience reducing manual work and improving engineering delivery.
• Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Deep knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Advanced Git and branching strategy knowledge.
• Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Experience embedding security and quality controls into delivery pipelines.
• Strong monitoring, logging, tracing, and production operations knowledge.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language.
• Strong communication and technical leadership capabilities.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, GitFlow, and Release Automation.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate manual development and operational work through automation.
• Design enterprise-grade CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code capabilities.
• Build an internal self-service platform enabling teams to deploy independently.
• Embed security, compliance, and quality controls into delivery pipelines.
• Improve developer productivity and reduce friction across the engineering lifecycle.
• Lead prototypes and PoCs for emerging automation technologies.
• Use DORA metrics to drive measurable improvements.
• Pioneer AI agents for infrastructure, deployment, security, and incident remediation.
• Establish standards and reusable practices for automation excellence.
• Drive container platforms adoption and orchestration improvements.
