Job summary

AdvanceWorks is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the software development platform and CI/CD ecosystem for a mobility tech leader. You will combine hands-on DevOps with a focus on developer experience, automation, and operational excellence across Europe and the US.

You will lead end-to-end CI/CD, manage the DevOps toolchain, and embed security/quality into pipelines while mentoring engineers and documenting processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in DevOps, platform, software or infrastructure engineering.
• Proven ability to design and run CI/CD pipelines and platforms, ideally GitLab CI/CD and the Java/Maven build ecosystem.
• Strong command of Git, Linux (RHEL/Rocky), Bash and Python, plus Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible.
• Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and practical AWS knowledge, including PostgreSQL/Amazon RDS.
• DevSecOps mindset: software supply chain security (SCA, SBOM), vulnerability and secrets management.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Own CI/CD ecosystem end-to-end: templates, images, the corporate Maven parent POM and pipelines across multiple tech stacks.
• Administer the DevOps toolchain: GitLab, CI runners, build agents, artifact repositories, and code quality and observability tools.
• Operate Jira and Confluence on Amazon EKS.
• Embed security and quality into CI/CD with SCA, SBOMs, vulnerability management, secret detection and quality gates.
• Be the first point of contact for development teams on platform requests and troubleshooting.
• Maintain the engineering metrics platform and its dashboards.
• Ensure platform reliability and continuity: backups, disaster recovery, incident management and root cause analysis.
