Job summary

Team IT in Lisbon is seeking a Junior Fullstack Developer to build modern frontend and backend services using TypeScript, React, and Node.js. You will contribute to frontend interfaces, REST APIs, and data models, collaborating with Product, Design, and Platform teams.

You bring 1–3 years of experience, strong fundamentals in TS/React, and a willingness to learn. This hybrid role offers growth, a supportive learning environment, and a focus on sustainable development practices.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of professional experience in Fullstack, Frontend, or Backend software development.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of end-to-end software development lifecycle and how frontend, backend, APIs and databases interact.
• Ability to translate business/product requirements into technical solutions with guidance.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and error handling.

• Contribute to development and maintenance of frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• Develop responsive user interfaces and reusable components.
• Support backend services and REST APIs using Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript.

Junior Fullstack Developer (TypeScript & React) - Is that you?

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of frontend applications using React and TypeScript.
• Develop responsive user interfaces and reusable components using modern frontend frameworks and design systems.
• Support the development of backend services and REST APIs using Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
• Integrate frontend applications with APIs and implement appropriate data validation and error-handling mechanisms.
• Contribute to database development, data modelling, and query implementation.
• Support authentication and authorization implementations using modern security standards.
• Write and maintain unit tests for frontend and backend applications.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Frontend, Backend, and Platform Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1-3 years of professional experience in Fullstack, Frontend, or Backend Software Development.
• Previous experience developing applications using TypeScript, React, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Basic understanding of the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
• Ability to translate defined business and product requirements into technical solutions with guidance.
• Understanding of how frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and databases interact.
• Hands-on experience with React and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of reusable component development and responsive UI design.
• Experience with Tailwind CSS or similar frontend styling frameworks.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using Node.js and NestJS.
• Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and error-handling principles.
• Basic knowledge of PostgreSQL and ORM frameworks such as Prisma, TypeORM, or MikroORM.
• Familiarity with schema validation technologies such as Zod.
• Understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and JWT authentication mechanisms.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest or Vitest.
• Familiarity with Git workflows, CI/CD practices, and collaborative software development.

Nice to Have

• Relevant internships, graduate programmes, or practical software development experience.
• Basic experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
• Exposure to Playwright, Storybook, Figma, and modern development ecosystems.
• Cloud, DevOps, Platform Engineering, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Ability to identify, communicate, and resolve blockers proactively.
• Strong willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills.
