Decskill is growing and seeking an IT Software Asset Management Officer to join our team in Portugal. You will enforce governance, manage software usage data, and collaborate with procurement and international teams to optimize licensing and procurement processes.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in IT/CS/Business, 3+ years in IT and SAM, strong analytical skills, and fluency in Portuguese with some French knowledge. A proactive, autonomous mindset is essential, with ITIL being a plus.

Qualificações

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional IT experience.
  • Experience in Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Knowledge of software licensing, compliance and optimization.
  • Experience analysing software contracts for licensing, purchases and usage rights.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Experience in multicultural and international environments with remote teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage action plans and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Portuguese: Expert; French: Notions.

Responsabilidades

  • Ensure governance, policies and rules for Software Asset Management are followed.
  • Enforce SAM rules and contribute to procedures and awareness documentation.
  • Collect and maintain evidence of software usage for inventories.
  • Launch and follow up on local software inventories for existing contracts.
  • Collect and maintain evidence of software purchases (contracts, amendments, POs, invoices).
  • Monitor software maintenance payments and track related information.
  • Be the first point of contact for software purchases; liaise with Procurement and resellers.
  • Monitor usage against purchased licenses and identify gaps and optimization opportunities.
  • Follow up on action plans related to software compliance and optimization.
  • Liaise with teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented timely.
  • Raise alerts to management as needed.
  • Maintain global tracking of usage versus purchases and maintenance payments.
  • Maintain software documentation, licensing metrics, purchasing rules, and key points.
  • Prepare post-inventory summaries and follow up on actions.
  • Contribute to SAM reporting and provide summaries for management.
  • Prepare SAM reports with consolidated views and statistics.
  • Provide information on software usage, purchases and applicable rules as required.
  • Work with international and remote teams.

We are searching for an IT Software Asset Management Officer!
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with governance, policies and rules related to Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Enforce SAM rules and contribute to the creation and updating of procedures and awareness documentation.
  • Collect and maintain evidence of software usage for global and local inventories.
  • Launch and follow up on local software inventories related to existing software contracts.
  • Collect and maintain evidence of software purchases, including contracts, amendments, Purchase Orders and related invoices.
  • Monitor software maintenance payments and ensure the related information is properly tracked.
  • Act as the first point of contact for software purchases, liaising with Procurement teams and software resellers.
  • Monitor software usage against purchased licences, identifying compliance gaps and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Follow up on action plans related to software compliance and optimisation, including uninstallation, licence transfer and additional purchases.
  • Liaise with the relevant teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented within the required timeframe.
  • Raise alerts and points of attention to management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain global tracking of software usage versus purchases and maintenance payments.
  • Maintain software-specific documentation, including licensing metrics, purchasing rules, specificities and key attention points, based on contract analysis.
  • Prepare post-inventory summaries and follow up on identified actions.
  • Contribute to SAM reporting activities and provide relevant summaries and key points of attention.
  • Prepare SAM reports for management, including consolidated views, statistics and areas requiring attention.
  • Provide information regarding software usage, purchases and applicable rules whenever required.
  • Work closely with international and remote teams, ensuring effective collaboration in a multicultural environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Management, or another relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in IT.
  • Previous professional experience in Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Good knowledge of software licensing, compliance and optimisation.
  • Experience analysing software contracts and extracting relevant information related to licensing, purchases and usage rights.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Experience working in a multicultural and international environment, including collaboration with remote teams.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage and follow up on action plans and multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive, rigorous and autonomous mindset.
  • ITIL certification is considered a plus.
  • Portuguese: Expert.
  • French: Notions.
