Job summary

AHM - Ace Hospitality Management in Lagos is seeking an HR Generalist to support the employee lifecycle and day-to-day HR activities in a dynamic hospitality environment. You will work closely with employees, managers and the HR team to deliver efficient, people-focused support and ensure consistent HR processes.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, a practical problem-solving approach, and a proactive, service-oriented attitude to contribute to a positive workplace

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a human resources, personnel administration, or HR support role.
• Good knowledge of Portuguese employment practices and HR administration.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and assisting with onboarding.
• Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring documentation and records are completed and maintained.
• Respond to employee and manager questions about HR processes, policies, and routine employment matters, escalating complex issues when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR information, handling sensitive data with discretion.
• Assist with payroll preparation by collecting, checking, and providing relevant employee information to the appropriate teams.
• Coordinate training activities and maintain records of employee development and participation.
• Support the implementation and communication of HR policies, procedures, and people initiatives.
• Assist with employee engagement activities and contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Prepare HR reports and support the monitoring of workforce information and key HR processes.
• Work collaboratively with managers and colleagues across departments to support operational and people-related needs.

AHM is looking for an HR Generalist to support the employee lifecycle and day-to-day human resources activities in Lagos. This role works closely with employees, managers, and the wider HR team to deliver efficient, people-focused support and help ensure consistent HR processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support recruitment activities, including posting vacancies, coordinating interviews, communicating with candidates, and assisting with onboarding.

Profile & Requirements

• Previous experience in a human resources, personnel administration, or HR support role.
• Good knowledge of Portuguese employment practices and HR administration.
• Knowledge of core HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and HR administration.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exercise sound judgment.
• Proactive, service-oriented approach and willingness to work collaboratively with employees and managers.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; experience with HR information systems is an advantage.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English is preferred.
• Availability to work in Lagos.
