Moniepoint Inc. is seeking a Head of Engineering for the POS Application Platform in Portugal to lead the dedicated platform team and own the architecture that underpins all POS devices.

You will drive standards, tooling, and developer experience across multiple squads, ensuring reliability and scale as Moniepoint expands internationally. The role requires deep Android engineering experience, fintech domain knowledge, and a track record of building internal platforms and cross-squad governance.

Qualificações

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• 6+ years leading engineering teams in multinational or VC-backed companies.
• Strong Android engineering expertise in Kotlin and Java on POS devices.
• Knowledge of EMV standards and PCI DSS / P2PE certifications.
• Proven track record building internal platforms, shared libraries, or tooling.
• Experience across multiple POS device types and OEM integrations.
• Fintech background with high transaction volumes is preferred.
• Familiarity with terminal management systems and observability tooling.
• Backend experience in Java/Spring Boot is a strong plus.
• Exposure to C or C++ is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical strategy and architecture for the POS Application Platform.
• Define engineering standards across all POS device types and OEMs.
• Functionally lead POS engineers embedded across squads.
• Own POS observability, monitoring, and incident response frameworks.
• Drive architecture for supporting multiple device types and onboarding new ones.
• Build and scale the platform team with hiring and mentoring.
• Translate platform decisions into business impact with cross-functional leaders.
• Improve engineering processes, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and developer productivity.
