Moniepoint Inc. in Portugal is seeking a Head of Engineering for the Payment Gateway to lead the technical direction of Monnify, overseeing architecture, reliability, and developer experience.

You will manage multiple engineering teams through managers, set standards, and collaborate with product, commercial and operations to align investments with business goals. You will own APIs, documentation, SDKs, and drive multi-currency, international scalability while ensuring security in a regulated

Qualificações

• 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 5 years in engineering leadership.
• 5+ years writing and shipping Java in production as a practicing engineer.
• At least 5 years of experience managing managers and leading an engineering organisation.
• Experience in payments, fintech or financial services with knowledge of payment flows and compliance.
• Deep knowledge of API-first products, developer platforms and API integration.
• Proven leadership of multiple engineering teams via managers in a scaling organisation.
• Strong backend engineering skills for high-throughput, distributed transactional systems.
• Experience building or operating a payment gateway or multi-currency platform is a strong plus.

Responsabilidades

• Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform across all capability areas.
• Lead multiple engineering teams through engineering managers, setting quality standards and building organisational capability.
• Own the developer experience end-to-end, including APIs, documentation, SDKs and integration ease.
• Drive platform evolution towards multi-currency and international scalability.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability and security within a regulated environment.
• Partner with product, commercial and operations teams to align technical investments with business goals.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support growth.
