Moniepoint is seeking a Head of Engineering, Field Verification in Portugal. You will own the end-to-end technical strategy for field verification, including architecture, APIs, and mobile delivery, while scaling a lean team.

The role focuses on moving from maintenance to strategic delivery, with emphasis on multi-country expansion and strong collaboration with Product and business units. You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and managers, shaping the platform to support onboarding,

Qualificações

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with substantial hands-on production work.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership, include managing Engineering Managers.
• Backend stack: Java and Spring Boot; experience across backend, web, and mobile.

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for Field Verification end to end.
• Move platform from keep-the-lights-on to deliberate development.
• Lead and grow the cross-functional team and expand the organization as scope grows.
• Build operational efficiency: trip/route optimisation, task allocation and capacity management.
• Own API surface and webhooks used by other units and the back office.
• Deliver a native mobile experience for field officers.
• Ensure verification data is structured, auditable and compliant.
• Plan for multi-country expansion and new markets.
