Volkswagen Group Services in Lisbon is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to join the Smart Cloud Factory Team. You will develop and review electronic hardware designs, including schematics and PCB layouts, and support hardware simulations, safety analyses, and supplier coordination.

Ideal candidates have 3–5+ years in automotive hardware, strong PCB knowledge, and experience with Altium Designer. This role offers a hybrid work model in Lisbon and opportunities to work on cutting-edge

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline.
• 3–5+ years of experience in automotive hardware development, preferably involving safety-related electronic control units.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit design, and PCB development principles.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and review electronic hardware designs, including schematics and PCB layouts.
• Perform hardware simulations and technical analyses within the assigned development area.
• Design and define electronic circuit concepts for automotive control units.
• Support the execution of functional safety analyses, including FMEDA.
• Investigate hardware failures and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with customer engineering departments during design reviews and technical discussions.
• Support supplier management activities, ensuring alignment with technical requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, engineering calculations, and project overviews.
• Contribute to hardware cost estimations and technical feasibility assessments.
• Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards and customer-specific development processes.
