Smartex in Porto is seeking a VP of Hardware & Operations to lead hardware engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and global deployment, owning the full hardware lifecycle from PoC to mass production.

You will build and scale a multidisciplinary team, drive DFM/DFT/ DFA, ensure CE/Machinery Directive/IEC compliance, and partner with Product, Software and Commercial teams to align hardware capabilities with growth.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in hardware engineering or operations.
• 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record shipping 3+ hardware products through full lifecycle (PoC→EVT→DVT→PVT→MP).
• Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Define hardware and operations strategy aligned with product roadmap and growth.
• Own the full hardware development lifecycle from PoC to MP.
• Oversee supply chain including CM management, procurement and inventory.
• Lead field deployment, service, RMA processes and warranty cost management.
• Drive DFM/DFT/ DFA and BOM cost engineering.
• Ensure industrial-grade durability and compliance (CE, Machinery Directive, IEC).
• Build and scale the hardware/operations organization and hiring strategy.
