Job summary

Paymentology in Lisbon is seeking a Financial Accountant to manage end-to-end financial accounting and statutory compliance across markets. You will lead month-end closes, prepare journals, and ensure balance sheet integrity while supporting tax filings and audits.

Collaborating with Finance teams and external advisors, you will drive process improvements and maintain internal controls, while leveraging IFRS knowledge and ERP systems to deliver accurate reports for decision-making.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with IFRS knowledge and tax filing experience.
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Knowledge of VAT/GST and corporate tax compliance.
• Experience supporting external audits and internal controls.
• Proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned markets.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
• Review P&L and balance sheet movements and ensure compliance.
• Support tax filings, audits, and transfer pricing where applicable.
