Job summary

Clan, a leading international industrial group, is establishing a Group Business Services hub in Porto. We are recruiting a GBS HR Manager to establish the local HR function, implement governance, and align HR processes with Group standards.

You will drive recruitment, onboarding, payroll collaboration, employee lifecycle management, and analytics, shaping the hub’s HR services as the unit grows and opportunities arise across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Law or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of progressive HR Generalist/HRBP/HR Manager experience.
  • Fluency in English; proficient HRIS and data analytics skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain the local HR function, including HR processes and governance mechanisms for the Unit.
  • Ensure compliance with labor legislation, employment regulations, and local HR practices.
  • Support the Unit's growth/ramp-up through recruitment, onboarding, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Manage and coordinate all key employee lifecycle activities: recruitment, onboarding, labor relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, and offboarding.
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits, and administrative HR activities with HR Operations and external vendors.
  • Provide HR analytics and workforce insights to support business decision-making.
  • Act as the primary HR interface between the Unit and Group HR Centers of Expertise (CoEs), Shared Services, and DHROs.

Job description

We are recruiting a GBS HR Manager, for a leading international industrial group with strong European roots, which is setting up a Group Business Services hub in Porto.

The hub will bring together expertise in selected support activities to serve the Group’s international operations.

Joining the team at this early stage, offers the opportunity to help build the hub and shape its processes and ways of working. You will contribute your expertise, take responsibility from the outset and support the development of a service organization within an established industrial group. As the hub develops, there may be opportunities to broaden your responsibilities and develop your skills.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain the local HR function, including HR processes and governance mechanisms for the Unit;
  • Ensure compliance with labor legislation, employment regulations, and local HR practices;
  • Support the Unit's growth/ramp-up phase through recruitment, onboarding, and organizational development initiatives;
  • Manage and coordinate all key employee lifecycle activities, including recruitment, onboarding, labor relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits administration, and offboarding processes;
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits and administrative HR activities in close collaboration with HR Operations and, where applicable, external vendors;
  • Provide HR analytics and workforce insights to support business decision-making;
  • Act as the primary HR interface between the Unit and Group HR Centers of Expertise (CoEs), Shared Services, and DHROs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Management, Law or a related field;
  • 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in HR Generalist, HR Business Partner or HR Manager roles;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Proficiency in HRIS and HR data analytics tools;
  • Experience supporting business growth, setup of new units, start-up or organizational ramp-up phases;
  • Solid knowledge of Portuguese labor law and local HR practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution;
  • Strong stakeholder management and change management skills.
