Job summary

Bumatic is seeking a founding engineer to enable autonomous operation of robots using multi-sensor fusion, SLAM, and semantic perception. You will join a very early-stage startup with hands-on training and a clear career path, based in the Porto area with 80-100% on-site work.

This role requires a Master’s in robotics or related field, expertise in ROS 2 and perception/navigation systems, and a bias toward practical, production-focused robotics.

Qualifications

• Master's in Robotics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience delivering perception or navigation systems for autonomous robots.
• Hands-on with ROS 2, SLAM and sensor fusion; CV/Deep Learning a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize the perception and navigation software on real robots.
• Integrate and calibrate heterogeneous sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, depth).
• Field test in unstructured environments and report results clearly.
