Job summary

Closer Consulting in Lisboa is seeking a Senior FinOps & Cloud Consultant to join our hybrid team. The role focuses on cloud cost management, cloud architecture, and financial stewardship across major clients and platforms.

You will engage with IT leadership to optimize cloud spend, design cost controls, and align initiatives with group standards, while collaborating with engineers and data teams. Fluency in English is mandatory.

We are seeking a skilled Senior FinOps & Cloud Consultant eager to take on new challenges in a hybrid work model in Lisboa.

Are you the one?

• Seniority & Experience: Minimum 6+ years dedicated to IT Cloud Operations (mandatory).
• Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or a related IT field (mandatory).
• Cloud & Technical Expertise: Strong technology-first profile comfortable with Cloud Architecture & Operations (Microsoft Azure preferred, AWS/GCP). Familiarity with Terraform or IBM Cloudability is highly valued.
• FinOps & Cost Management: Solid track record in cloud cost optimization, budgeting, forecasting, recharging mechanisms, and implementing cost control policies aligned with Group standards.
• Certifications: Cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure) and/or FinOps Foundation Certification are preferred.
• Communication & Soft Skills: Ability to present complex technical and financial insights to senior leadership/management, while remaining technical enough to challenge architects and engineering teams on infrastructure choices.
• Languages: Full proficiency in English (mandatory).
