Job summary

IT House is seeking a seasoned FinOps Engineer for a client in the insurance sector, based in Lisbon. The role focuses on implementing FinOps strategies, cloud cost management, budgeting, and forecasting to optimize multi-cloud spending.

You will partner with product teams and senior leadership to deliver cost insights and drive savings. We require 6+ years in cloud operations, a Master's degree, and relevant certifications (AWS/Azure/FinOps).

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in cloud operations and IT.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or related field.
• Certification from AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or FinOps Foundation.
• Deep expertise in FinOps, cloud cost management, and financial analysis.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud (billing models, architecture).
• Strong analytical skills; proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience managing stakeholders and presenting to senior leadership.
• Knowledge of financial management principles applied to cloud cost governance.
• Fluent English (mandatory).
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud costs and usage, ensuring cost visibility and transparency across product lines.
• Deliver regular reports and insights on cloud spend, trends, and anomalies to stakeholders.
• Implement tools and automation for cost tracking, reporting, and optimization.
• Challenge application teams on infrastructure choices, balancing cost optimization with quality of service.
• Monitor cloud pricing trends, new platform capabilities, and FinOps best practices to inform decision-making.
