Job summary

act digital is seeking a FinOps professional to drive cloud financial management across AWS, Azure and GCP. You will implement governance, monitor costs, and collaborate with Product, Engineering and Architecture to optimize spend while preserving service quality.

The role requires strong Excel and Power BI skills, fluent English, and a hybrid Lisbon work arrangement (3 days onsite). Availability within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

Job description

• 3+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Cost Management, Cloud Financial Management or Cloud Financial Analysis.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including their billing models and cost structures.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based architectures, cloud operations and financial management processes.
• Experience with FinOps strategies, governance, cost allocation, chargeback/recharge mechanisms, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud Cost Optimization and the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
• Experience with IBM Cloudability is required.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, including data analysis, reporting and visualization.
• Experience with IT Asset Management, cost accounting or financial management within IT environments.
• Knowledge of financial processes related to product management and product finance.
• Experience working with financial data and translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Product, Engineering, Architecture and Finance teams.
• Knowledge of FinOps best practices and frameworks; FinOps Foundation and/or Cloud Provider certifications are highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Availability to work hybrid in Lisbon, 3 days per week onsite.
• Availability to start within 30 days or less.

Responsibilities

• Implement FinOps strategies, policies and best practices aligned with Group standards to improve cloud financial management and control cloud expenditure.
• Monitor, analyse and optimize cloud costs and usage across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud environments.
• Drive cloud cost visibility and transparency across different product lines and business areas.
• Establish and support cloud cost governance processes, ensuring financial accountability across teams.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cloud cost optimization target-setting activities.
• Analyse cloud spending trends, identify anomalies and provide actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Work closely with Product, Engineering and Architecture teams to identify and implement cost optimization opportunities while maintaining service quality.
• Support product finance and product management processes, including cost allocation and recharge/chargeback mechanisms.
• Develop and maintain cost tracking, reporting and optimization tools and automation.
• Use IBM Cloudability and cloud provider native tools to monitor and analyse cloud expenditure and usage.
• Produce regular financial and cloud cost reports, dashboards and presentations for technical and business stakeholders.
• Use Power BI and advanced Excel to analyse financial and cloud data and translate findings into clear business insights.
• Promote a culture of financial accountability and cost awareness across Product, Engineering and Architecture teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve cloud resource utilization, eliminate unnecessary expenditure and increase cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Finance and other stakeholders to ensure cloud financial processes are aligned with business objectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of FinOps governance, reporting, forecasting and cost optimization practices.
