Siemens Energy is seeking an AI/ML Engineer for the Applied AI Solutions team in Lisbon, Portugal. You will develop and deploy AI‑driven automation solutions to modernize digital finance operations, prototype models, and contribute to MVPs within Agile teams.

You should have a university degree in a technical field, hands-on experience with Python, AWS, Snowflake and AI frameworks, and a strong understanding of enterprise architecture and data privacy. Remote-friendly work options are available.

Job Overview

As an AI/ML Engineer in the Applied AI Solutions team, you will use a range of statistical, machine learning and LLM techniques, tools, models and agents to enable the company’s digital finance operations through automation. You will be a key contributor to Siemens Energy finance center of excellence for applied AI and automation, working closely with solution architects, product managers, other data and AI engineers and finance stakeholders to prototype, build and test scalable, production‑ready AI solutions.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Development and deployment of AI‑driven solutions to address business challenges such as forecasting, anomaly detection and document classification
• Design and implementation of data pipelines and cloud‑based architectures for experimentation, model training, validation and testing
• Integration of AI components into automation workflows, digital finance platforms and microservice‑based architectures
• Rapid prototyping of AI models and contribution to MVP development within Agile teams
• Continuous evaluation and optimization of AI performance for accuracy, scalability and compliance with data privacy and security standards
• Collaboration with AI and data engineers to design reusable components, share best practices and mentor junior team members

What You Bring

• University degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related technical field, or comparable qualifications gained through professional experience
• Proven experience in developing and deploying AI‑based automation solutions in applied business environments, ideally within the Finance domain
• Expertise in Python, AWS, Snowflake and AI frameworks for production‑grade implementation
• Strong decision‑making skills balancing enterprise architecture, budget and resource constraints, with experience leading engineering teams
• Solid understanding of Agile principles and modern software development practices
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with state‑of‑the‑art AI advancements
