Job summary

DataSmart invites you to join as a DBA Administrator in a hybrid role based in Lisbon. You will administer SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases, manage Azure SQL Managed Instance and Google Cloud SQL, and drive performance tuning, backup, and high availability.

• Database migration and modernization projects
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher
• Hybrid work model with 2 days per week in Lisbon office

What You’ll Do:

Administer and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.

Manage and support cloud database platforms, including Azure SQL Managed Instance and Google Cloud SQL.

Perform database performance tuning and optimization.

Manage database backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.

Develop and support ETL processes and real-time data integration.

Contribute to projects involving IoT, Open Data, and information security.

Participate in database migration and data platform modernization projects.

Ensure database reliability, performance, availability, and security.

Qualifications:

Higher education degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in database administration.

Hands-on experience administering SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.

Knowledge of Azure SQL Managed Instance and Google Cloud SQL.

Experience in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability.

Skills in ETL processes and real-time data integration.

Experience participating in IoT, Open Data, and information security projects.

Experience with database migration and data platform modernization.

At least one of the following certifications:

English proficiency at B1 level or higher, both written and spoken.

Availability to work in a hybrid model, with 2 days per week at our Lisbon office.
