Job summary

A Devoteam Portugal procura um Database Administrator experiente para integrar a equipa técnica. O(a) DBA será responsável pelo suporte 360° da camada de banco de dados, assegurando disponibilidade, desempenho e segurança em ambientes diversificados.

O candidato ideal possui experiência com várias tecnologias de BD, Linux/Unix e Windows, domínio de scripting e inglês técnico (B2). Integração em projetos internacionais e colaboração com equipas globais estão entre as atividades.

Qualifications

• Experiência sólida em pelo menos duas tecnologias de banco de dados.
• Conhecimento de Linux/Unix e Windows.
• Proficiência em pelo menos uma linguagem de scripting: SQL, PL/SQL, Python, etc.
• Inglês técnico avançado (B2).
• Formação em TI ou equivalente profissional.

Responsibilities

• Fornecer suporte 360° para a camada de banco de dados de serviços críticos.
• Garantir HA, desempenho e segurança de sistemas de banco de dados.
• Executar backups, recuperação, patches, upgrades e monitoramento.
• Resolver incidentes complexos em ambientes de missão crítica.
• Colaborar com equipes de desenvolvimento e operações para otimizar consultas.
• Participar de projetos internacionais envolvendo migração de bancos de dados e padronização tecnológica.

Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and versatile Database Administrator to join our technical team. In this role, you will be crucial in providing 360° support for the database layer of various mission-critical services, managing diverse technologies, and actively participating in international projects.

As a DBA, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle support of our database environments:

• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of all supported database systems.
• Perform daily operational tasks including backups, recovery, patching, upgrades, and monitoring across different database platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database incidents in mission-critical, high-stress environments.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize query performance and database design.
• Contribute to international projects involving database migration, infrastructure evolution, and technology standardization.
• Provide expertise and recommendations on database architecture and technology choices.

Qualifications

• Solid expertise (mandatory) in at least two of the following database technologies:
  • PostgreSQL / EDB
  • MS SQL Server
• Good working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or procedural language: PSQL, TSQL, SQL, PL/SQL, Perl, PowerShell, or Python.
• Upper intermediate level (B2) of written and spoken English.
• Experience with other major database systems:
  • Oracle
  • MySQL
• Familiarity with Cloud Database Services (e.g., AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL). AWS experience is a significant plus.
• A Degree in Information Technology, Maths, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent professional working experience.
