IRIUM Portugal is seeking a Database Administrator to manage Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments in Lisbon. This role focuses on high-availability, performance, security and business continuity in a hybrid work setup.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience, strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SSMS, pgAdmin, and experience with backups, DR and migrations. Portuguese and English skills required, with Spanish a plus.

Qualificações

We are currently looking for: Database Administrator – Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server & PostgreSQL

Requirements:

We are currently looking for an experienced Database Administrator with a strong background in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL, to manage critical and high-availability database environments, ensuring performance, security, reliability and business continuity.

Required Competencies:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration in critical and high-availability environments
• Strong experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of MySQL
• Experience with Linux, Unix and Windows Server
• Experience with database version upgrades and migrations
• Strong experience in query and performance optimisation
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex database incidents
• Experience implementing backup, restore, contingency and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies
• Experience participating in restoration and recovery tests
• Experience implementing database security policies and managing users, roles, permissions and access
• Experience with task automation using Bash, Cron, PowerShell and/or Python

Oracle:

• Installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and expansion of Oracle databases
• Advanced administration of Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate and Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Disk management using ASM
• Backup and recovery management using RMAN
• Performance tuning, including query optimisation, deadlock analysis and parameter tuning
• Experience with SQL Tuning Advisor, AWR and Execution Plans
• Experience with Grid Infrastructure, Exadata Cloud and Cloud Control
• Administration of advanced resources including MGW, ACLs, AQ/MQ and certificates
• Technical support for related servers and platforms

Microsoft SQL Server:

• Installation and configuration of Microsoft SQL Server instances and related tools, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Management of users and roles at server and database levels
• Backup and restore administration and recovery model configuration
• Security and access policy management
• Performance monitoring, incident resolution and query optimisation
• Version upgrades and migrations
• Implementation of contingency and Disaster Recovery plans
• Management of fixed and custom roles and permissions

PostgreSQL:

• Installation, configuration and maintenance of PostgreSQL Server
• User and role management based on the principle of least privilege
• Creation and assignment of specific roles according to access requirements
• Backup and restore administration using pg_dump and pg_restore
• Scheduling of maintenance tasks, including vacuum and log analysis
• Resource and performance monitoring, parameter tuning and incident resolution
• Secure authentication configuration using SCRAM-SHA-256 and SSL
• Password and expiration policy management
• Experience with pgAdmin for database administration and task automation

Preferred Competencies:

• Intermediate or advanced Spanish
• Experience in multinational and dynamic technical environments
• Strong knowledge of database automation and continuous improvement practices

Location: Lisbon – Hybrid
Salary Range: €1.900–€2.100 gross/month
