Job summary

Closer Consulting in Lisbon is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain Talend-based data integrations in a hybrid work model. You will analyze Talend architectures, develop integrations with databases, files, APIs and messaging platforms, and create reusable components for robust pipelines.

You will also troubleshoot, perform RCA, document data flows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve automation and monitoring of critical data pipelines in production.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in Data Engineering or Enterprise Data Integration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Talend Data Integration / Talend Studio.
• Experience supporting and operating Talend solutions in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Good knowledge of Linux/Unix and scripting.
• Experience with ETL/ELT architectures and data integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain ETL processes and data integrations using Talend.
• Analyse existing Talend jobs and architectures and assess upstream/downstream impact.
• Develop integrations between Talend and databases, files, APIs, and messaging platforms.
• Create reusable components, frameworks, and standards for maintainability and efficiency.
• Provide support and operational follow-up for critical data pipelines in production.
• Perform troubleshooting, incident analysis and RCA, implementing fixes.
• Participate in solution design and architecture discussions for Talend integrations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation on data flows, configurations and requirements.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, database, architecture and business teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation, monitoring improvements, and reducing incidents.
• Share knowledge to increase team autonomy and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL processes and data integrations using Talend.
• Analyse existing Talend jobs and architectures, assessing the impact of changes to upstream and downstream applications.
• Develop integrations between Talend and databases, files, APIs, and integration/messaging platforms.
• Create reusable components, frameworks, and standards to improve solution maintainability, robustness, and efficiency.
• Provide support and operational follow-up for critical data pipelines in production environments.
• Perform troubleshooting, incident analysis, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), implementing corrective and preventive solutions.
• Participate in solution design and architecture discussions related to Talend-based integrations.
• Create and maintain technical documentation covering data flows, dependencies, configurations, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, database, architecture, and business teams.
• Identify opportunities for automation, improved monitoring, and reduction of recurring incidents.
• Share technical knowledge and contribute to increasing the team's technical autonomy and best practices
