Job summary

Closer Consulting is seeking mid-to-senior Data & BI Engineers to join the Data Partner Marketing & Sales team in Lisbon or Porto. You will design and build data models for BI, translate business requirements into KPIs, and support AI initiatives with data delivery for NBA/NBO campaigns.

Ideal candidates have solid Data Engineer or BI experience, strong SQL, Hadoop, and GCP skills, and can operate within Agile backlogs while communicating effectively with business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Data Engineer or BI Specialist.
• Proficient in SQL across relational databases, Hadoop, and GCP.
• Able to translate business requirements into technical KPIs and metrics.
• Experience with Customer Management KPIs and operational customer journeys.
• Experience supporting AI initiatives, delivering data for AI models, and driving NBA/NBO campaigns.
• Rigorous data validation and content accuracy through stakeholder dialogue.
• Strong business acumen and ability to interact with business hubs.
• Experience working under Agile methodologies and managing backlogs.

We are seeking mid-to-senior level Data & BI Engineers eager to take on new challenges in Lisbon or Porto, integrated into our Data Partner Marketing & Sales team working closely with Information Systems (CoE Data).

Are you the one?

• Solid experience as a Data Engineer or BI Specialist, with a focus on designing and building data models for Business Intelligence.
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL across relational databases, Hadoop technologies, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into technical KPIs and metrics (e.g., rates, weights, volumes, business targets), and conversely to translate code logic into business insights.
• Proven track record working with Customer Management KPIs (core metrics, retention, base management) or operational customer journey workflows.
• Experience supporting Artificial Intelligence initiatives, including data delivery for AI models, operationalising AI outputs, and driving Next Best Action (NBA), Next Best Offer (NBO), and multi-channel campaign projects.
• Rigorous approach to data validation, output analysis, and content accuracy through ongoing dialogue with business stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to interact directly with business hubs to understand strategic goals.
• Experience working under Agile methodologies, managing backlogs, and balancing dynamic, high-priority demands.
• Strong estimation, expectation management, and communication skills, with the assertiveness to prioritize requests and manage project delivery timelines effectively.
