Quark, part of Sener Group, is expanding in Lisbon, seeking a Senior Contract Manager to shape contractual strategy for complex data center projects across Portugal.

You will advise Project Directors and engineering leaders, manage variations, claims and commercial negotiations, and build robust contractual positions with legal and commercial teams. This strategic role offers autonomy and opportunities to influence client relationships and project outcomes.

Qualificações

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure or mission-critical projects.
• Experience in leadership roles such as Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Project Director or Design Manager.
• Strong expertise in contract administration, claims management and change control.
• Experience with complex buildings, infrastructure or mission-critical facilities.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills valued.
• Knowledge of the Portuguese market and Iberian region.

Your mission

As Senior Contract Manager, you will lead the contractual strategy and governance of complex Data Center projects across Portugal.

You will act as a trusted advisor to Project Directors, Engineering Managers and senior leadership, helping teams anticipate risks, manage change effectively, develop robust commercial positions and navigate challenging project situations with confidence.

This is a highly visible role where your decisions will directly influence project outcomes, client relationships and business performance.

What will you be doing?

• Leading contract management activities across major engineering and construction-support projects.

• Driving contractual strategy, governance and risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

• Managing variations, change orders, claims, delay events, disruption events and commercial negotiations.

• Supporting Project Directors and engineering leaders in complex client discussions.

• Developing claim strategies, executive briefings and contract management plans.

• Coordinating with legal advisors, commercial teams, planners and technical specialists to build strong contractual positions.

• Identifying risks early and implementing proactive mitigation strategies.

• Establishing best practices, templates, reporting frameworks and governance processes.

• Promoting a culture of accountability, contractual awareness and disciplined project execution.

• Acting as a senior representative of Quark in discussions with clients, developers, contractors, investors and consultants.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a senior professional who combines strong project delivery experience with deep contractual and commercial expertise.

Ideally, you will bring:

• A degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

• 12+ years of experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure or mission-critical projects.

• Previous experience in leadership positions such as Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Project Director, Design Manager or similar technical management roles.

• Strong expertise in contract administration, claims management, change control and commercial negotiations.

• Experience working on complex buildings, major infrastructure or mission-critical facilities.

• Ability to understand technical documentation, design deliverables, project schedules and contractual interfaces.

• Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

We will especially value experience in:

• Data Centers, hyperscale campuses and colocation developments.

• FIDIC, NEC, EPCM and Design & Build contract models.

• Claims management and dispute avoidance.

• Portuguese and/or Spanish language skills.

• The Portuguese, Iberian or wider European construction market.
