Job summary

Quadrante in Lisbon is seeking a Chemical Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex, multidisciplinary engineering design projects within our Industry Business Unit. You will shape project scope and drive delivery from handover to final hand-off to clients.

Work with civil, structural, geotechnical, architecture, process, piping, mechanical and electrical teams; ensure milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met; manage external subcontractors and client interfaces.

Qualifications

• Pre-Bologna Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in English and Portuguese (mandatory).
• Fluency in additional languages (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design project management or multidisciplinary engineering coordination (mandatory).
• Proven track record in project management, including multidisciplinary design team coordination, scheduling, and cost control (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of the different stages of the engineering design lifecycle.
• Experience in industrial projects will be highly valued.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage multidisciplinary engineering design projects from handover through to final delivery, across our key Industry sectors, including Data Centers, Logistics Centers, Gigafactories, Factories, Green Energy, Energy Transition, or Mining.
• Plan and coordinate the multiple engineering disciplines required for each project (e.g., Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Architecture, Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic Engineering), working closely with the respective technical leads to ensure effective multidisciplinary integration.
• Ensure that project deliverables meet client requirements, agreed scope, quality standards, and contractual commitments.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, costs, invoicing, and resources, ensuring agreed deadlines and financial targets are met.
• Manage external subcontractors, including scope definition, negotiation, cost control, coordination, and delivery.
• Act as the main day-to-day interface with the client throughout project execution, managing expectations, priorities, progress, changes, and deliverables.
• Identify and manage project risks, constraints, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support new business opportunities arising from ongoing projects and client relationships.

We are currently looking for a Chemical Project Manager to join our team and play a key role in managing and coordinating complex, multidisciplinary engineering design projects within our Industry Business Unit.
