Job summary

Experimental Porto is seeking a dedicated Commis to support our kitchen team. You will prepare mise en place, assist with recipes, check quality, and ensure clean storage while following hygiene standards.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in a similar role, strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment, and is organized, diligent, and capable of working evenings, weekends, and public holidays in a fast paced, guest‑facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commis or similar role.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients and kitchen equipment.
• Passionate about gastronomy with rigor in following work procedures and technical sheets.
• Strong organizational skills with hygiene regulations."
• Portuguese language is required; English is a plus.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparing preliminary ingredients and mise en place.
• Preparing recipes according to technical sheets.
• Preparing dishes in line with the menu and customer requests.
• Checking preparations (tasting, analyzing, adjustments).
• Storing food products per procedures.
• Assist with stock organization and communicate shortages.
• Receiving and checking deliveries.
• Applying hygiene and safety regulations.
• Wearing professional attire as required by hygiene rules.
