Job summary

Hotel Infante Sagres Porto, now part of the Experimental Group, is seeking a committed Commis to join its kitchen in Porto. You will prepare ingredients, assist with mise en place, and help deliver dishes that reflect our timeless elegance and contemporary hospitality.

You should have proven Commis experience, solid cooking knowledge, and a passion for gastronomy. Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays is required; Portuguese language is essential, English a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commis or in a similar role.
• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients and kitchen equipment.
• Passion for gastronomy with ability to follow technical sheets.
• Strong organizational skills and adherence to hygiene regulations.
• Ability to communicate in Portuguese; English a plus.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary ingredients and mise en place.
• Prepare recipes according to technical sheets.
• Prepare dishes per menu and customer requests.
• Check preparations by tasting and adjustments.
• Store food according to procedures.
• Assist with stock organization and report shortages.
• Receive and check deliveries, both quantitative and qualitative.
• Apply hygiene and safety regulations.
• Wear professional attire in compliance with hygiene and safety legislation.
