Job summary

Hotel Infante Sagres Porto, now part of the Experimental Group, is seeking a Commis to support our kitchen team in Porto. You will work evenings, weekends, and public holidays, preparing ingredients and assisting chefs in line with the menu and technical sheets.

Experience in a similar role, knowledge of cooking techniques, and a passion for gastronomy are essential. Strong organizational skills and adherence to hygiene standards are expected in this role within a luxury setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commis or in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients and kitchen equipment.
• Passionate about gastronomy and able to follow work procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and good hygiene understanding.
• Able to communicate in Portuguese; English a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary ingredients and mise en place.
• Prepare recipes according to technical sheets.
• Prepare dishes in line with the menu and customer requests.
• Check preparations by tasting and adjusting when necessary.
• Store food products according to procedures.
• Assist with stock organization and report shortages when necessary.
• Receive deliveries and perform quantitative and qualitative checks.
• Apply current hygiene and safety regulations.
• Wear professional attire in compliance with hygiene and safety rules.
