Decskill is expanding its FinOps practice in Portugal and seeks a Cloud Cost Optimization specialist. You will partner with product and engineering teams to drive cost transparency, budgeting, and opportunities across AWS, Azure and GCP.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data-driven insights with Excel and Power BI, and hands-on use of cloud cost management tools to deliver measurable savings.

Qualificações

• Must have proven FinOps, cloud cost management, or IT financial management experience.
• Strong understanding of cloud cost management principles, budgeting, forecasting and chargeback/showback models.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP billing models and cost structures.
• Experience supporting product and engineering teams in cloud cost optimization initiatives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, Cloud Cost Optimization, or IT Financial Management roles.
• Strong understanding of cloud cost management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, chargeback/showback models, and optimization strategies.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including their billing models and cost structures.
• Experience supporting product teams and engineering teams in identifying and implementing cloud cost optimization initiatives.
• Ability to act as a bridge between Finance, Product Management, Engineering, and Operations teams, promoting financial accountability and cost transparency.
• Experience with cloud cost reporting, financial analysis, and KPI monitoring, translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and identify cost trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
• Hands-on experience with FinOps tools, ideally IBM Cloudability or similar cloud cost management platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Experience with budget planning, forecasting processes, and financial governance models within IT environments.
• Knowledge of IT asset management, cost accounting, or technology financial operations is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and best practices.
• FinOps Foundation certification and/or cloud provider certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are highly valued.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present insights and recommendations to technical and business audiences.
• Fluent level of English (mandatory).

Nice to have:

• Experience working in large enterprise environments or global organizations.
• Previous experience supporting cloud transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of product finance processes and cloud cost recharge mechanisms.
