Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Portugal seeks a Python Backend Developer to design, develop, deploy and maintain scalable backend services in a cloud-native environment. You will work closely with Development, DevOps and Data Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions following Agile/Scrum practices.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, 5+ years of Python backend experience, and strong knowledge of FastAPI/Flask, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python backend development experience.
• Strong experience with FastAPI or Flask and REST APIs.
• Docker and Kubernetes for containerized apps.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment management.
• Cloud familiarity (Azure or AWS) and PostgreSQL optimization.
• Git and version control proficiency.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Hybrid work: 2 days/week in Capgemini offices.
• English proficiency is mandatory.

As a Python Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable backend applications in a cloud-native environment. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and data engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions while following Agile/Scrum best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in Python backend development Solid hands-on experience with Fast API or Flask API and REST API development Knowledge of Docker and kubernetes for containerized application development and orchestration Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment management Familiarity with cloud (Azure, AWS) and container service Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database management and optimization Proficiency with Git and version control systems Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Hybrid-Model: 2 times a week in the Capgemini Offices English is mandatory

Nice to Have

Experience working with Databricks and Apache Spark Experience with microservices architecture Understanding of cloud-native application design and deployment
