Capgemini Engineering in Porto is looking for a Python Backend Developer to design, develop, deploy and maintain scalable backend applications in a cloud-native environment. You will collaborate with DevOps, data engineering and development teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of Python backend experience, strong Flask API skills, and knowledge of Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps and cloud services. Hybrid work two days weekly in Porto.

YOUR ROLE

As a Python Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable backend applications in a cloud‑native environment. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and data engineering teams to deliver high‑quality solutions while following Agile/Scrum best practices.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in Python backend development
• Solid hands‑on experience with Flask API and REST API development
• Experience working with Redis caching mechanisms
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application development and orchestration
• Experience with Azure DevOps, including CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment management
• Familiarity with Azure cloud and container service
• Experience working with Databricks and Apache Spark
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database management and optimization
• Proficiency with Git and version control systems
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Hybrid‑Model - 2 times a week in the Oporto Office
• English is mandatory

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Understanding of cloud‑native application design and deployment
• Experience with application performance tuning and monitoring tools
• Exposure to data engineering and large‑scale distributed systems
