Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Java Backend Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions. You will work with Java 17, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs in a multidisciplinary Agile team across international contexts.

You will collaborate with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), databases, and messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ, contributing to CI/CD and deployment automation while upholding quality and security standards.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or higher in Computer Engineering, IT, CS, Data Science or related field.
• 3+ years of professional Java web app development experience including Java 17, Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, OOP, design patterns, security best practices, and scalable distributed systems.

YOUR ROLE

As a Java Backend Software Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary Agile team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend solutions. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, working with modern Java technologies, cloud platforms, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with international teams, drive technical excellence, and deliver reliable solutions that support critical business operations.

In this role, you can expect to:

• Develop and maintain backend applications using Java 17, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Design and implement scalable microservices architectures following best practices and design patterns.
• Build and optimize integrations with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Develop event-driven solutions using messaging technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Contribute to cloud-native applications deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Ensure software quality, security, scalability, and performance across solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and work closely with cross-functional and international teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions.

YOUR PROFILE

• Higher education degree or attendance in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science & Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience developing Java-based web applications, including experience with Java 17, Spring Framework, and REST API development.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, object-oriented programming principles, software design patterns, security best practices, and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL databases, and messaging solutions such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), DevOps methodologies, and Agile software development practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and different time zones.
• Fluent English is mandatory.
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD). (Nice to Have)
• Experience with CI/CD and containerization technologies such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes. (Nice to Have)
• Knowledge of frontend technologies such as Angular, ReactJS, or Vue.js.(Nice to Have)
