Job summary

Capgemini Engineering Portugal is seeking a Python Backend Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services in a cloud-native environment. You will collaborate with DevOps and data engineering teams in an Agile/Scrum setup to deliver high-quality solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of Python backend experience with FastAPI or Flask, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, cloud familiarity (Azure/AWS), and a strong PostgreSQL background.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Python backend development.
• Solid hands-on experience with FastAPI or Flask API and REST API development.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application development and orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline implementation and deployment management.
• Familiarity with cloud (Azure, AWS) and container services.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database management and optimization.
• Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Hybrid-Model: 2 times a week in the Capgemini Offices.
• English is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable backend applications in a cloud-native environment.
• Collaborate closely with Development, DevOps, and Data Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Follow Agile/Scrum practices to ensure timely, incremental delivery.
