Job summary

Kraken is seeking a Head of Exchange Infrastructure to own the stack powering all products—matching engine, core infra, custody, algo and API engines. You will lead a team of four to five product managers and collaborate with an engineering manager to deliver a unified, high-performing exchange platform across products.

You will consolidate engines starting with US derivatives, then international derivatives, and finally spot, aligning cross-functional teams around the strategy and metrics like

Qualifications

• Senior product leader with exchange or high-performance platform experience.
• Experience managing and developing product managers, capable of running without supervision.
• Able to write specs and roadmaps; player-coach approach.
• Strong understanding of matching engine and market data architecture.
• Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Passion for crypto markets and platform infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer across matching engine, core infrastructure, custody, algo engine and API engine.
• Lead and grow a team of product managers, setting the bar for product craft.
• Consolidate multiple matching engines into one, starting with US derivatives, then international derivatives, then spot.
• Build interface-agnostic platforms so all product teams can build on the same stack.
• Define success metrics (latency, throughput, uptime) and drive accountability.
• Collaborate with engineering leaders to sequence migrations without disrupting live markets.
• Partner with Risk and Credit Infrastructure to enable unified client accounts across products.
• Shape the platform to stay ahead of industry shifts and align cross-functional teams around strategy.
