Job summary

Airbus is seeking a Buyer (Maternity Leave Cover) to onboard our GBS in Lisbon, Portugal. You will execute procurement activities for the assigned portfolio, manage CFTs, and ensure alignment with Airbus procurement processes while supporting SRM and risk management.

The role emphasizes compliance with E&C rules and collaboration across functions in a hybrid work setting. Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are a plus.

We are now looking for a Buyer (Maternity Leave Cover) to onboard our GBS.

Responsibilities

• Execute procurement activities for the assigned portfolio by applying basic concepts and procedures in daily procurement activities.
• Manage the Call for Tender (CFT) process—including supplier selection, contract administration, and processing NDAs—ensuring alignment with Airbus procurement processes.
• Resolve operational problems by strictly following prescribed guidelines or procedures to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ensure supplier deliverables meet agreed-upon terms.
• Contribute to Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and proactive risk management activities, working effectively under the supervision and direction of more senior‑level roles to foster cooperation and ensure regular supplier assessment.
• Act as an extended member of the Procurement function, maintaining cross‑functional alignment and ensuring absolute compliance with internal processes and Ethics & Compliance (E&C) rules.

Requirements

• A specialized field of knowledge relevant to the position, paired with limited work experience involving basic concepts and procedures.
• In terms of Hard skills, the jobholder will demonstrate a solid understanding of the Tendering process, negotiation, Legal/Contracting, and SRM (supplier relationship management).
• Awareness of Export Control and Sustainability laws and regulations is beneficial.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English both written and verbal.
• Additional European languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish) would be a plus.
• Adaptability to the Airbus E2E Procurement tools (e.g., Coupa suite, SAP, E-Proc, and Airsupply) and familiarity with Google Workspace.
• In terms of Soft skills, the jobholder will be "delivery" oriented with a strong focus on customers’ satisfaction.
• Crucially, the candidate must possess the ability to work dependably under supervision and resolve problems using established guidelines.
• A team player comfortable with collaborative and hybrid working environments.
• Unwavering commitment to acting with integrity and equity in the supplier selection process, in full compliance with processes and regulations.
• Specific attention will be brought to the Ethics of the jobholder, as they engage Airbus legally, financially, and in terms of image.
