Job summary

Intermedia Intelligent Communications is seeking a backend engineer to design and build scalable services and APIs. You will work with frontend, AI/ML, product, UX, and platform teams to enable configuration, testing, deployment, and lifecycle management of agent studio capabilities.

The role emphasizes secure, reliable backend solutions with a focus on performance, observability, and fault tolerance in a distributed cloud environment across Portugal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, or service-oriented applications.
• Strong understanding of software design principles and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable, reliable production applications.
• Cloud familiarity with AWS or Azure and cloud-native architectures.
• Knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, and production support practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Build capabilities that enable users to create, configure, test and deploy.
• Develop secure authentication, authorization, and access controls for tools and data.
• Collaborate with frontend, AI/ML, product, UX, and platform teams.
• Contribute to technical design decisions for orchestration, configuration management, and integrations.
• Implement monitoring, logging, testing, and observability for reliability.
• Provide production support and troubleshoot complex backend issues.
