Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our Portugal team and contribute to robust backend systems using Kotlin and Java. You will implement high-performance Spring Boot solutions, work with PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ or Kafka, and contribute to microservices architecture.

Knowledge of Redis, OpenSearch, MongoDB and AI-related technologies is valued. English at B2 level or higher and eligibility to work in Portugal are required.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of backend development experience.
• Strong Kotlin and Java programming skills.
• Proficient with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL and messaging (RabbitMQ/Kafka).
• Experience with microservices, Redis, OpenSearch and MongoDB valued.
• Knowledge of AI tech (Vertex AI, Python, ADK) is a plus.
• English level B2 or higher and work permit for Portugal.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain robust backend systems using Kotlin and Java.
• Implement high-performance and scalable solutions with Spring Boot.
• Work with relational databases like PostgreSQL and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of microservices architecture.
• Potentially engage in AI agent development using ADK or similar technologies.
