Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Java or Scala development, Play Framework experience.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, Git, GitLab CI, Kubernetes, Docker.
• Solid Agile experience; Scrum or Kanban; familiarity with JIRA & Confluence.
• Fluency in French (C1) and English (B2) for distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyse business needs, refine user stories, and challenge acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
• Design maintainable, secure, and testable solutions aligned with standards.
• Develop backend services in Java/Scala/Play; expose REST APIs; implement frontend in React/Angular.
• Write unit/integration tests, perform code reviews, ensure quality gates.
• Investigate defects and incidents; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, container deployments, and observability.

What will you do?

• Analyse business needs, refine user stories, and challenge acceptance criteria with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and technical leads.
• Design maintainable, secure, and testable solutions aligned with the application architecture and engineering standards.
• Develop backend services using Java or Scala/Play, expose and consume REST APIs, and implement frontend components in React or Angular.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests, perform code reviews, and ensure compliance with quality gates.
• Investigate defects and production incidents, identify root causes, and deliver sustainable corrective actions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, and application observability.

• Proven experience of 5+ years in Java or Scala development, specifically with the Play Framework.
