Job summary

AstraZeneca in Portugal is seeking a Senior Director, EUIT Operational Excellence to lead SIAM, governance of the outsourcing partner and a blended workforce. You will drive value realization, manage risk and oversee a $44M IT Opex run, delivering measurable productivity gains across Enabling Functions.

You will partner with senior IT and business leaders to shape an AI-powered operator model, ensure resilience, and steer transition activities toward a 2028 steady state while maximizing delivery

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading IT service management, SIAM and operations in a large global enterprise.
• Experience designing and managing outcome-based MSP and outsourcing contracts with SLAs, credits and gain-share.
• Proven vendor management at a Vendor Management Office standard with a single partner strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own SIAM operating model across a multi-tower, SaaS-led estate with governance and end-to-end service accountability.
• Demonstrate IT value to enabling functions, targeting measurable productivity gains of 10% per function.
• Lead strategic partner governance and XLA/SLA performance, with risk/reward balance and lock-in mitigation.
• Define and run experience/outcome framework and governance cadence with cross-functional leaders.
• Drive run assurance, resilience, budget tracking of circa $44M IT Opex and cost-optimisation.
• Oversee risk, transition, and TUPE planning for the 2028 steady-state transition.
