Empa-T is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to join a multinational project in Banking/Insurance, building and maintaining a Conversational AI Platform. You will contribute to cloud-native, secure AI services, data pipelines, and RAG-based tools across countries.

The role involves collaborating with Tech Leads, Product Owners, and Data & AI teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, while ensuring platform reliability and security in a hybrid Lisbon environment.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of experience in software development or platform engineering.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Experience with API development and API management.
• Experience with Data & AI pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience with data preparation, indexing, or search technologies such as Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of RAG concepts and Conversational AI platforms.
• Experience with API Management tools such as Apigee or similar.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools.
• Knowledge of security best practices and secure development principles.
• Understanding of the data lifecycle and how user feedback can drive continuous improvement.
• Experience working in complex, international, distributed, and highly secured cloud environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and ensure application stability and performance.
• Experience with scripting and automation, such as Shell scripting, is a plus.
• Experience designing or developing applications based on microservices architecture is a plus.
• Fluency in English.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute to the run and change activities of a Conversational AI Platform.
• Support the onboarding of new AI use cases across different countries and business areas.
• Work closely with Tech Leads, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Data & AI teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
• Develop and support APIs, RAG-based components, data pipelines, and data preparation processes.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Support data preparation and indexing activities using technologies such as Elasticsearch.
• Contribute to the integration of new AI tools, bot providers, and platform capabilities.
• Create and manage environments for new use cases and support their deployment.
• Draft technical playbooks and documentation to accelerate onboarding and deployment processes.
• Monitor existing bots and follow up on incidents, ensuring stability, performance, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with DevOps, MLOps, AIOps, Data, QA, and Security teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog reviews, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and propose solutions to improve platform reliability.
• Identify technical debt and contribute to plans for remediation and platform optimization.
• Support vulnerability management and ensure security best practices at application, dependency, and infrastructure levels.

We are looking for an AI Platform Engineer to join an international project within the Banking / Insurance sector, contributing to the development, administration, and evolution of a Conversational AI Platform designed to support AI-powered use cases across multiple countries.

This role is part of a Data & AI environment focused on building robust, industrialized, cloud-native solutions, including internal RAG-based tools, bot widgets, APIs, data pipelines, and secure AI services.

Key Responsibilities
