Job summary

ITDS, Lisbon-based, is seeking a Senior AI Systems Engineer to design and deploy scalable AI systems for production environments, including RAG pipelines and multi-step agents. The role requires collaborating with data scientists and building robust MLOps pipelines while ensuring security by design and observability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or AI.
• At least 2 years deploying LLM/AI systems to production.
• Proven track record of delivering production AI systems, not just PoCs.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy robust AI systems in production with scalability.
• Contribute to end-to-end solution architecture from model selection to API deployment and monitoring.
• Implement MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps including CI/CD, prompt versioning, and model registry management.
• Establish monitoring and observability for AI systems including drift, latency, cost and output quality.
• Incorporate Security by Design principles and ensure auditability and traceability.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to industrialize models and streamline deployment workflows.
• Write comprehensive technical documentation and promote best practices.

As a Senior AI Systems Engineer, you will be working for our client, a leader in innovative AI solutions within the banking and regulated environments. You will play a pivotal role in designing and deploying agentic AI systems, including RAG pipelines, multi-step agents, and large language model workflows, to deliver tangible, high-impact business outcomes. Your main responsibilities:

• Design and deploy robust AI systems in production, ensuring operational excellence and scalability.
• Contribute to end-to-end solution architecture, from model selection to API deployment, orchestration, and monitoring.
• Implement MLOps, LLMOps, and AgentOps best practices, including CI/CD, prompt versioning, and model registry management.
• Establish monitoring and observability frameworks for AI systems, tracking drift, latency, cost, and output quality.
• Integrate AI Security by Design principles, safeguarding systems against prompt injections, ensuring traceability, and maintaining auditability.
• Collaborate with business Data Scientists to industrialize AI models and systemize deployment workflows.
• Write comprehensive technical documentation and promote best practices within the team.

You’re ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering or AI, including at least 2 years deploying LLM/AI systems to production environments.
• Proven track record of delivering operational AI systems, not just proofs of concept.
• Strong expertise in Python, including frameworks such as LangChain, Transformers, and FastAPI.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform.
• Deep understanding of MLOps, LLMOps, and AI Security by Design principles.
• Excellent command of English and French (C1 level).
• Eligibility to work in Europe.

It’s a strong plus if you also have:

• Knowledge of regulated financial environments and security standards.
