Job summary

AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing in Porto, Portugal seeks an Accounts Payable Team Lead to drive the AP function and develop a high-performing team. You will oversee 10+ AP professionals, manage daily activities, and ensure accurate processing and controls within a dynamic, multicultural setting.

You will define KPIs, coach team members, support audits and close processes, and partner with stakeholders to continuously improve AP workflows and efficiency. Hybrid working model offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in finance
• Proven leadership in finance teams
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Solid understanding of accounting principles
• ERP systems and workflow tech knowledge
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10+ Accounts Payables FTEs
• Manage daily performance and team development
• Define and track KPIs to support team success
• Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings
• Support internal and external audits
• Drive continuous improvement of processes
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
