Job description

Our client, a new Silicon Valley based profitable B2C product startup building innovative mobile solutions for the planet, is now looking for a talented and experienced Product Manager to join its expanding team.

Location: Europe/Asia
Type: Remote, Full-time
Start date: ASAP

About Project and Role

Based in Silicon Valley and backed by top-tier venture capital, we build consumer technology products that help millions of people stay secure, private, and connected online. Our flagship VPN product serves over 10 million monthly active users across mobile and desktop platforms. With additional products in development, we are scaling globally and investing heavily in product quality, performance, and growth.

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and evolve our desktop VPN applications on Windows and macOS. This role is responsible for driving product strategy and execution across core VPN functionality, security and privacy features, user experience, and growth initiatives. You'll work closely with engineering, design, growth, and data teams to improve activation, engagement, retention, and monetization—while delivering a fast, reliable, and trustworthy desktop experience. Prior VPN or security experience is not required, but a strong interest in privacy, security, and user trust is essential. You'll report directly to the Head of Product and play a key role in shaping the future of our desktop products.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for desktop applications on Windows and macOS.
  • Drive product decisions that balance security, privacy, performance, usability, and business impact.
  • Identify opportunities to improve activation, engagement, retention, and monetization on desktop.
  • Ensure a cohesive experience across desktop and mobile while respecting platform-specific expectations.
  • Incorporate user feedback, behavioral data, and support insights into product prioritization.

Desktop Product Execution

  • Own the full desktop product lifecycle, from discovery and definition through delivery and iteration.
  • Partner closely with engineering to ship high-quality, secure, and performant desktop software.
  • Collaborate with design to deliver clear, intuitive, and native-feeling UI/UX on Windows andmanufactured macOS.
  • Define product requirements, success metrics, and acceptance criteria for features and improvements.
  • Oversee release planning, rollout strategies, and post-launch analysis.

Growth & Optimization

  • Partner with the Growth and Design teams to optimize desktop funnels, onboarding, and conversion.
  • Run experiments and ATurn tests to improve install-to-paid conversion, upgrades to longer plans, and retention.
  • Translate growth insights into product-led improvements across UX, pricing surfaces, and feature discovery.
  • Support go-to-market initiatives for new arbit, plans, features, or promotions on desktop.

Cross-functional Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across engineering, design, QA, customer support, and marketing.
  • Communicate product strategy, priorities, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and dependencies early and proactively manage them.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and data-informed decision-making.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, with ownership of consumer software products.
  • Experience shipping and iterating on desktop applications (Windows and/or macOS).
  • Strong product judgment and ability to navigate technical and UX trade-offs.
  • Experience working with remote, globally distributed teams.
  • Solid understanding of Agile development practices.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Fluent in English (Upper-Intermediate or above).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong interest in security, privacy, networking, or trust-focused consumer products.
  • Experience working on subscription-based or freemium products.
  • Familiarity with growth metrics such as activation rate, retention, LTV, and conversion.
  • Experience collaborating with growth, lifecycle, or data teams.
  • Understanding of desktop analytics, experimentation, or performance monitoring tools.
  • Passion for building reliable, user-centric software at global scale.
Why Join
  • Own desktop products used by millions of users worldwide.
  • Work on products where user trust, security, and quality truly matter.
  • Collaborate with a high-performing, global team that values ownership and experimentation.
  • Operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with strong VC backing.
  • Influence theanimation direction of a critical product surface in a growing portfolio.
