Job summary

Alstom in Toruń is seeking a Warranty Service Engineer to diagnose and troubleshoot locomotive issues under warranty. You will coordinate repair activities, perform inspections and testing, and maintain thorough service documentation.

The role combines workshop work in Toruń with field service visits to客户 sites as required, fostering collaboration with engineering and project teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on maintenance or repair experience, strong electrical knowledge, and fluent Polish

Qualifications

• Fluent Polish is required.
• English level B2 or higher for stakeholder communication.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical docs.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Technical education in Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot locomotive issues during the warranty period.
• Provide technical support to service team and coordinate repairs.
• Perform inspections, functional testing, and failure analysis.
• Maintain service documentation and record faults.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Project teams; suppliers and customers.
• Work daily in the Toruń workshop and travel to customer sites as needed.

We’ll look to you for:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in locomotives during the warranty period
• Provide technical support to the service team and coordinate repair activities
• Perform inspections, functional testing, and failure analysis
• Maintain service documentation and record faults in relevant systems
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Project teams, as well as suppliers and customers
• Work daily in the technical workshop in Toruń, combined with service visits to customer sites and other locations as required.

• Hands-on experience in the maintenance, diagnostics, or repair of vehicles, machinery, or industrial equipment; experience in the railway industry or knowledge of rolling stock will be considered an advantage
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Fluent Polish is a must, English – min. B2 (liaising with internal and external stakeholders)
• Valid cat. B driving licence and willingness to travel on business and work in a mobile service environment
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.
