Job summary

Alstom in Toruń is seeking a Warranty Service Engineer to join our field service team. You’ll diagnose and repair locomotive systems under warranty, coordinate repairs, and support customers and service staff on site.

You’ll perform inspections, testing, and fault analysis, maintain service records, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Projects while frequent travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in maintenance, diagnostics, or repair of vehicles and industrial equipment; railway knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently.
• Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Fluent Polish; English at least B2 for liaising with stakeholders.
• Valid cat. B driving licence and willingness to travel for mobile service.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues in locomotives during the warranty period.
• Provide technical support to the service team and coordinate repair activities.
• Perform inspections, functional testing, and failure analysis.
• Maintain service documentation and record faults in relevant systems.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, and Project teams, as well as suppliers and customers.
• Work daily in the technical workshop in Toruń, with service visits to customer sites as required.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently diagnose and resolve technical issues
• Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• Fluent Polish is a must, English – min. B2 (liaising with internal and external stakeholders)
• Valid cat. B driving licence and willingness to travel on business and work in a mobile service environment
• Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.
