Job summary

Septentrio in Krakow, Poland seeks a Field Application Engineer to act as the primary technical contact for customers, integrators and partners across Eastern Europe. You will support pre-sales activities, evaluations, and system integration for GNSS, INS, and timing solutions.

You will collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager to drive opportunities, deliver technical guidance, and ensure successful deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer-facing, technical role.
• Excellent communication and proactive customer communication.
• Willingness to travel up to 25–30% within Eastern Europe.
• Hands-on technical mindset with electronics, robotics or UAVs a plus.
• Knowledge of PNT solutions or related tech is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical part of pre-sales engagements with customers and partners.
• Collaborate with Regional Sales Manager to convert opportunities and manage design-in projects.
• Guide customers through evaluations, proofs-of-concept, and system integration.

Field Application Engineer

As a Field Application Engineer, you are the primary technical point of contact for customers, integrators and partners in Eastern European region, including Ukraine. Working closely with Regional Sales Managers, you help customers evaluate, integrate, and successfully deploy Septentrio GNSS, INS, and timing solutions.

The Job

Your Mission

Pre-Sales Technical Support

• Drive all interactions with customers together with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM). You own the technical part of the agenda while the RSM handles the commercial side.
• Focus, with the RSM, on converting and support business opportunities, OEM integrations, and design-in activities while identifying technical risks early and driving successful customer outcomes.
• Guide customers through product evaluations, proof-of-concept activities, system-design and integration projects, helping them identify and implement the most suitable Septentrio solution for their application.
• Understand customer objectives, technical constraints and application requirements, translating complex technologies and concepts into practical guidance and recommendations.
• Support customers’ performance testing, validation activities and system optimization, ensuring customers successfully deploy and maximize the value of Septentrio positioning and navigation solutions.

Technical Support & Customer Success

• Take ownership of customer-reported technical issues and drive them toward resolution with transparent communication
• Reproduce and troubleshoot issues, coordinate escalations, and communicate progress clearly.
• Provide product training and technical guidance to customers and channel partners.
• Build long-term trusted technical relationships with key accounts across the region.

Internal collaboration and Market feedback

• Collaborate closely with Sales, the Customer Success Team and the product team, to ensure customer requirements, technical challenges, and market opportunities are effectively translated into successful customer outcomes and future product improvements.
• Act as a key contributor within the global FAE organization by sharing customer insights, application knowledge, and best practices, while continuously developing your own expertise through hands-on activities, training and collaboration with internal specialists.
• Contribute to the global FAE community by sharing customer insights, application knowledge and best practices; creating technical documentation and capturing lessons learned; and continuously developing your expertise through hands-on activities, training and collaboration with internal specialists.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering, Geomatics, Electronics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in a customer‑facing, technical role.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with a proactive approach to technical customer communication.
• Hands‑on experience with electronics, robotics and UAV integrations is a plus
• Knowledge of positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions or related technologies is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge in defense and construction markets is an advantage.
• Fluent in English and Ukrainian. Russian is an advantage.
• Flexible when it comes to regularly travel within Eastern Europe. (Typical: Up-to 25‑30% travel).
