Job summary

The Sheet Metal Supervisor at Skyways Technics Poland coordinates day-to-day sheet metal repair activities in the component repair workshop, plans daily work, and supervises technicians to ensure safe, efficient repairs. You will maintain hands-on presence, resolve production challenges, and ensure compliance with approved maintenance data and Polish regulations.

Minimum 7 years in sheet metal or structural repair with 2+ years in a supervisory role, English communication skills, and familiarity

Position Summary

The Sheet Metal Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of all sheet metal repair activities within the Skyways Technics Poland component repair workshop. The role is responsible for planning and allocating daily work, supervising technicians, monitoring repair progress, and ensuring that structural component and flight control repairs are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved maintenance data, company procedures, and applicable Part-145 requirements. The Sheet Metal Supervisor is expected to maintain a strong hands-on presence in the workshop and actively support the team in resolving technical and production challenges.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the Sheet Metal Workshop.
• Plan, prioritize, and allocate work to sheet metal technicians based on workload, competence, and production priorities.
• Conduct daily work allocation and ensure each technician has clearly defined tasks and production priorities.
• Monitor repair progress against agreed turnaround time (TAT), estimated completion dates, and workshop production targets.
• Maintain a strong presence on the workshop floor and proactively identify and resolve production bottlenecks.
• Ensure sheet metal repairs on aircraft components and flight controls are performed in accordance with approved maintenance data, CMMs, SRMs, Engineering Orders, repair instructions, and company procedures.
• Review repair requirements and ensure technicians clearly understand the applicable maintenance data and work scope before commencing work.
• Support technicians with complex structural repairs and provide hands-on technical guidance when required.
• Ensure damages, additional findings, and repair deviations are identified, documented, and reported to Technical Services promptly.
• Coordinate closely with Technical Services regarding damage assessments, OEM repair requests, technical queries, and repair instructions.
• Ensure maintenance documentation and work records are completed accurately and progressively throughout the repair process.
• Monitor workshop productivity, labour utilization, and work order progress and report operational risks or delays to Workshop Management.
• Ensure the availability of required manpower, tooling, equipment, materials, and maintenance data to support planned repair activities.
• Coordinate with Logistics and Purchasing regarding material shortages and operational requirements that may impact production.
• Ensure proper use, control, and care of workshop tooling and equipment.
• Ensure calibrated tools and measuring equipment are used where required and remain within their applicable calibration status.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, housekeeping, and safety within the Sheet Metal Workshop.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Part-145 requirements, company procedures, occupational health and safety requirements, and applicable Polish workplace regulations.
• Supervise, coach, and develop sheet metal technicians and support the identification of training and competency development needs.
• Support the assessment of technician skills and provide feedback to Workshop Management regarding employee performance and development.
• Support the onboarding and practical integration of new sheet metal personnel.
• Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits and support the timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving productivity, repair quality, workshop flow, and turnaround time.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the Sheet Metal Workshop.
• Report production status, resource requirements, risks, and operational issues to the Deputy Group Workshop Manager.

Qualification Requirements

• Technical or vocational education in aircraft maintenance, aircraft structures, sheet metal work, mechanical engineering, metal fabrication, or a related technical discipline.
• Advanced knowledge of aircraft sheet metal and structural repair techniques.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret CMMs, SRMs, technical drawings, Engineering Orders, and approved repair instructions.
• Good knowledge of aircraft structural materials, fasteners, repair methods, and manufacturing techniques.
• Good understanding of precision measuring tools and workshop equipment.
• Knowledge of Part-145 requirements, Human Factors, and aviation safety principles.
• Good computer skills and ability to work with electronic maintenance documentation and workshop management systems.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to understand technical documentation and communicate within an international organization.
• Supervisory or leadership training is considered an advantage.

Working Experience Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of practical experience in aircraft sheet metal or structural repair activities.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory, team leader, or senior technician role within an aviation maintenance or aircraft component repair environment.
• Strong hands-on experience in structural repairs on aircraft components, flight controls, or aircraft structures.
• Demonstrated experience using CMMs, SRMs, technical drawings, and approved repair instructions.
• Experience in planning and allocating daily workshop activities and monitoring production progress.
• Previous experience within an EASA Part-145-approved maintenance organization is highly desirable.
• Experience supporting audits, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance activities is preferred.
• Experience in ATR aircraft components and flight control repairs is considered a strong advantage.
