Skyways Technics Poland component repair workshop seeks a skilled Composite Technician to perform composite repairs and maintenance on aircraft components and flight controls.

The role requires precise execution per approved data, OEM documentation and Part-145 requirements, with a strong focus on quality, traceability and safety in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

  • Technical or vocational education in aircraft maintenance or related technical field.
  • Relevant composite repair training or a recognized composite technician qualification preferred.
  • Good knowledge of composite repair materials, processes and techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand CMMs, SRMs, Engineering Orders and repair instructions.
  • Knowledge of carbon fiber, glass fiber, honeycomb structures, adhesives and resins.
  • Basic English to understand technical docs and communicate in international environment.
  • Knowledge of Part-145 requirements is an advantage.

  • Carry out damage removal, surface prep, sanding, lay-up, bonding, curing and finishing.
  • Read and follow CMMs, SRMs, Engineering Orders and OEM repair instructions.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop area and comply with safety requirements.
  • Cooperate with Supervisors, Technical Services, Quality, Logistics and other staff.

Position Summary

The Composite Technician is responsible for performing composite repair and maintenance activities on aircraft components and flight controls within the Skyways Technics Poland component repair workshop.

Position Summary

The Composite Technician is responsible for performing composite repair and maintenance activities on aircraft components and flight controls within the Skyways Technics Poland component repair workshop.

The role requires the accurate execution of composite repairs in accordance with approved maintenance data, OEM documentation, company procedures, and applicable Part-145 requirements while maintaining high standards of workmanship, quality, and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Perform composite repairs on aircraft components and flight controls in accordance with approved maintenance data, repair instructions, and company procedures.
  • Carry out composite repair activities including damage removal, surface preparation, sanding, cutting, lay-up, bonding, curing, and finishing.
  • Perform repairs on composite structures, including honeycomb sandwich panels and bonded structural assemblies.
  • Read, understand, and accurately follow Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Engineering Orders, technical drawings, OEM repair instructions, and other applicable maintenance data.
  • Perform dimensional checks and measurements using appropriate measuring equipment.
  • Identify and report damages, defects, discrepancies, or additional findings discovered during the repair process.
  • Support damage assessment activities and provide accurate technical information to the Supervisor and Technical Services.
  • Ensure composite materials are handled and stored in accordance with applicable requirements, including temperature-controlled and shelf-life-controlled materials.
  • Verify the shelf life and serviceability status of materials before use.
  • Ensure full traceability of materials and consumables used during repair activities.
  • Ensure all work performed is properly recorded and documented in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper use, control, and care of tools, equipment, and workshop facilities.
  • Verify that tools and equipment used are serviceable and within calibration requirements where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working area and comply with workshop safety requirements.
  • Follow applicable occupational health and safety, environmental, and chemical handling requirements.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling composite materials, chemicals, adhesives, resins, and other hazardous substances.
  • Support workshop productivity and turnaround time targets while maintaining the required quality standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support the implementation of improved repair and production processes.
  • Cooperate closely with Supervisors, Technical Services, Quality, Logistics, and other workshop personnel.
  • Perform other workshop-related duties within the employee's competence and authorization as assigned by the Supervisor or Workshop Management.
  • Qualification requirements:
  • Technical or vocational education in aircraft maintenance, composite technology, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant composite repair training or a recognized composite technician qualification is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of composite repair materials, processes, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, CMMs, SRMs, Engineering Orders, and approved repair instructions.
  • Knowledge of composite materials including carbon fiber, glass fiber, honeycomb structures, adhesives, and resin systems.
  • Basic understanding of vacuum bagging and composite curing processes.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with electronic maintenance documentation and workshop management systems.
  • Good command of English, sufficient to understand technical documentation and communicate within an international working environment.
  • Knowledge of Part-145 requirements and Human Factors principles is considered an advantage.
Working Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in aircraft composite repair or a similar aviation composite maintenance environment.
  • Hands-on experience performing composite repairs on aircraft components, flight controls, or aircraft structural assemblies.
  • Practical experience in damage removal, surface preparation, lay-up, bonding, vacuum bagging, curing, and finishing processes.
  • Experience repairing honeycomb sandwich structures and bonded composite assemblies.
  • Experience working with carbon fiber, glass fiber, adhesives, resin systems, and composite core materials.
  • Experience using CMMs, SRMs, technical drawings, and approved repair instructions.
  • Experience handling shelf-life-controlled and temperature-controlled composite materials is preferred.
  • Previous experience within a Part-145-approved maintenance organization is highly desirable.
  • Experience in aircraft flight control component repairs is considered a strong advantage.
  • Experience with ATR aircraft components and flight controls is considered a strong advantage.
