Skyways Technics Poland is seeking a skilled Composite Certifying Staff to perform, inspect, and certify composite repair activities on aircraft components and flight controls in the component repair workshop. The role emphasizes hands-on work and technical guidance within the certifying staff authorization framework under Part-145.

Qualifications

  • Technical or vocational education in Aircraft Maintenance or related discipline.
  • Advanced training in aircraft composite repair techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of composite repair processes, bonding techniques, honeycomb structures, vacuum bagging, curing processes, and structural repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret CMM, SRM, Engineering Orders, OEM repair instructions, and other approved docs.
  • Good understanding of Part-145 requirements and certifying staff responsibilities.
  • 5+ years of practical aircraft composite repair experience.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position Summary

The Composite Certifying Staff is responsible for performing, inspecting, and certifying composite repair activities on aircraft components and flight controls within the Skyways Technics Poland component repair workshop. The Composite Certifying Staff is responsible for performing, inspecting, and certifying composite repair activities on aircraft components and flight controls within the Skyways Technics Poland component repair workshop. The role ensures that all maintenance and repair activities within the individual's scope of authorization are performed in accordance with approved maintenance data, applicable Part-145 requirements, company procedures, and the conditions of the certifying staff authorization issued by Skyways Technics. The Composite Certifying Staff is expected to maintain a strong hands‑on role in workshop activities while providing technical guidance and support to composite technicians.

Responsibilities
  • Perform composite repair activities on aircraft components and flight controls in accordance with approved maintenance data and company procedures.
  • Inspect maintenance and repair work performed within the Composite Workshop and ensure conformity with applicable technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Certify maintenance activities within the scope and limitations of the company‑issued certifying staff authorization.
  • Issue or support the issuance of the applicable release documentation in accordance with Part‑145 requirements, company procedures, and individual authorization privileges.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities have been properly completed, inspected, and documented before certification.
  • Verify that the latest approved maintenance data, including Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Engineering Orders, OEM repair instructions, and other approved technical documentation, have been used.
  • Ensure all required inspections, curing cycles, dimensional checks, and quality requirements have been satisfactorily completed before certification.
  • Review work orders, task cards, repair documentation, and maintenance records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify and report technical discrepancies, additional damages, or repair deviations discovered during the repair process.
  • Coordinate with Technical Services regarding damage assessments, engineering queries, OEM repair requests, and approved repair schemes.
  • Ensure that repairs outside approved maintenance data are not performed without appropriate engineering approval.
  • Perform and document required inspections in accordance with company procedures and approved maintenance data.
  • Provide technical guidance and practical support to Composite Technicians during complex repair activities.
  • Support the Composite Shop Supervisor in resolving technical issues and identifying repair risks that may affect production or turnaround time.
  • Ensure composite materials are handled, stored, and controlled in accordance with manufacturer requirements, including shelf‑life limitations, freezer storage, and environmental controls.
  • Verify the serviceability and calibration status of ovens, vacuum systems, temperature monitoring equipment, and measuring equipment before use.
  • Ensure full traceability of composite materials, adhesives, resins, consumables, and repair records.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping, safety, and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention within the workshop.
  • Immediately report any quality, safety, regulatory, or technical concerns to the Composite Shop Supervisor, Workshop Management, or Quality Department.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits when required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve repair quality, workshop efficiency, and turnaround time.
  • Coach and support Composite Technicians in the application of approved repair techniques and company procedures.
  • Perform other maintenance and certification activities within the scope of individual competence and company authorization.
Qualification Requirements
  • Technical or vocational education in Aircraft Maintenance, Composite Technology, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Advanced training in aircraft composite repair techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of composite repair processes, bonding techniques, honeycomb structures, vacuum bagging, curing processes, and structural composite repairs.
  • Ability to read and interpret Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Engineering Orders, technical drawings, OEM repair instructions, and other approved maintenance documentation.
  • Good understanding of Part‑145 requirements and the responsibilities associated with certifying staff authorization.
  • Completion of all regulatory and company training required for Composite Certifying Staff authorization.
  • Knowledge of Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety, EWIS (where applicable), and other mandatory regulatory training.
  • Good computer skills and experience using electronic maintenance documentation and workshop management systems.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Must satisfy the company's competence assessment and authorization requirements for Composite Certifying Staff.
Working Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in aircraft composite repair within an aviation maintenance or aircraft component repair environment.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience repairing aircraft composite components, flight controls, and structural assemblies.
  • Proven experience in composite lay‑up, bonding, vacuum bagging, curing, honeycomb repairs, structural bonding, finishing, and inspection techniques.
  • Experience using Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Structural Repair Manuals (SRM), Engineering Orders, technical drawings, and OEM‑approved repair documentation.
  • Experience completing maintenance records and technical documentation within a regulated aviation environment.
  • Previous experience as Certifying Staff, Authorized Release Staff, or equivalent within a Part‑145‑approved organization is highly desirable.
  • Practical experience within a Part‑145 component maintenance environment is preferred.
  • Experience repairing ATR aircraft components and flight controls is considered a strong advantage.
